My paintings capture the abstract forms I see in the landscape. Color, light, and texture all play into these minimalist images. The landscapes have a familiar feel, yet offer the viewer an opportunity to add their own feelings of where and when.

The paintings record an image of the constantly changing world around us. Often working en-plein-air allows me to directly observe and face the challenges of seizing a brief moment in the ever-shifting light and color of a scene.

The open landscape is changing and often disappearing. I want these paintings to create a portrait of what we may never see again.
